Mark James Cuffe, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Dr. Mark J. Cuffe has made a living by improving people’s quality of life as a board-certified neurological surgeon. A neurosurgeon is trained to diagnose and treat disorders of the spinal cord, brain and peripheral nervous system.
“My father, Dr. James Cuffe, a physician, is my mentor. I have always wanted to be a doctor since I was four years old because of him,” Dr. Cuffe says.
Dr. Cuffe carried out his life-long dream and earned his B.S. and M.D. from the University of Florida with high honors and completed a general surgery internship and his neurological surgery residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Prior to accepting his position at Neurosurgical Associates, Dr. Cuffe practiced in Tallahassee for 18 years, routinely performing spine and peripheral nerve surgery. He also has performed brain surgery for tumors, placed shunts for both adults & children hydrocephalus and treated for blood clots, strokes and trauma.
Dr. Cuffe is involved in many professional affiliations such as the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Florida Neurosurgical Society, Southern Neurosurgical Society, Florida Medical Association and University of Florida’s Junior Honors Medical Program
Dr. Cuffe truly believes in the importance of being a physician! He understands surgery is not always the best or only choice for patients, therefore Dr. Cuffe explores all options and designs all treatment methods for each disorder. He customizes that treatment to the pattern, speed, and progression of each and every patient.
